O que são índices?

Os índices são uma maneira de rastrear o desempenho de um grupo subjacente de ativos, neste caso, ações. 

Um exemplo seria o S&P500, que é composto por 500 das maiores empresas listadas dos EUA. Se o preço das acoes individuais subir que compõem o S&P500, então você veria um aumento no valor do S&P500. Isso seria vice-versa se as ações subjacentes também caíssem em valor. Existem vários índices de todo o mundo com alguns dos principais no Reino Unido, conhecido como o FTSE100 ou o índice alemão que é conhecido como o Dax30.

Ao negociar Índices, você não esta negociando fisicamente as acoes individuais, mas sim os movimentos de preços das acoes subjacentes. Isso é conhecido como CFD (Contrato por Diferença).
